Album: Amaphutha EP by UGatsheni

South African Maskandi artist UGatsheni presents his new Amaphutha EP, released on 5 September 2026. Centred on mistakes, lessons and lived experiences, Amaphutha EP uses UGatsheni’s expressive isiZulu storytelling to explore relationships, personal struggles, loyalty, disappointment and growth across a compact collection.

Musically, Amaphutha EP is firmly rooted in Maskandi, bringing together uplifting guitar-led melodies, traditional rhythmic instrumentation and powerful vocals. UGatsheni keeps storytelling at the heart of the project while moving through themes of love, family, heartbreak and everyday struggles. The seven songs are “Amajika Asejozini,” “Omaskandi Baqopha Umlando,” “Amaphutha,” “Ngaswenka Ngedwa,” “Thando Ungubani Na?,” “Ushelwa Kanjani” and “Ingcindezi,” giving the EP a focused traditional sound with contemporary production.

Amaphutha EP also includes carefully selected featured artists from the South African music scene.
