Album: Ngalimala Album by Ama Quality

Ngalimala Album is the latest full-length Maskandi project from Ama Quality, continuing the group's tradition of combining expressive storytelling with the guitar-driven sound of contemporary Maskandi. Across 10 tracks, the project explores relationships, emotional struggles and everyday experiences through distinctly South African musical storytelling.

The title “Ngalimala” translates roughly to “I got hurt / I was hurt,” setting an emotional tone for the project. Love, disappointment, separation and the difficulties that accompany relationships feature prominently across the record, giving the album a personal and reflective character.

The album includes “Hamba” featuring Londeka Shangase, “Ngeke Shlukane,” “Senganele” featuring Zanele Dlamini, “Ngalimala” featuring Shenge wasehlalankosi, “Luyamangaza” featuring Izihlabani, “Wawudalelwe Mina” featuring Wandile Dlamini, and “Njengethoyizi” featuring Isitha samaX, among its ten songs.

Musically, Ngalimala remains rooted in Maskandi, combining rhythmic guitar work, expressive vocals, traditional influences and melodic arrangements. The featured performers introduce different vocal textures throughout the record while Ama Quality maintains the project's overall identity.

Ngalimala Album represents another chapter in Ama Quality's growing Maskandi catalogue, following USUYOBONA NGOMOPHO (2025) and UMAKHWAPHENI (2024). With 10 tracks, strong collaborations and emotionally driven songwriting, the project continues the group's contribution to modern South African Maskandi.
